POPLAR WOOD CORE
Hand selected laminated poplar wood core gives this ski its unique blend of pop and hard charging damp huck-landing goodness. There are a ton of ski core options out there, we have tried them all (cross-lam pine/bamboo with carbotanium? check!) and poplar, good ol poplar, is the best.
PTEX 3000 BASE
PTEX is the best known brand in the industry because they make the best bases. We use them on all of our skis and trust them completely, letting you charge hard even when it’s low tide out there.
FIBERGLASS & TITANALL STRUCTURE
We use fiberglass because it is actually better than carbon fiber. We can go into it (we love materials science) but for a lot of reasons, it is. Each of our skis also has a layer of titanall (similar to aluminum - has some nice properties) which pairs beautifully with the poplar core and gives our skis the hard charging ability they are known for.
ROCKWELL 48 2MM EDGES
Rockwell is the hardness test for steel. We are putting it right out there – these are some tough edges. Steel is slow (a lot slower than PTEX), so a wider edge slows you down. A small edge is too easy to damage. We find 2mm to be the goldilocks edge – just right.
ABS SIDEWALL
A strong and tough sidewall. Honestly, that's all there is to say. Available in red, green, classic black depending on the model.
